Job Description

WGM Group is seeking a Civil Design and CAD Drafter to join its growing engineering design team in the vibrant mountain town of Missoula, MT. WGM Group is a multi-disciplined civil engineering planning and design firm. This role will be responsible for supporting innovative, community-oriented, and diverse projects in the Northern Rockies.


Job Summary

As an integral player in the engineering design team, this role will be responsible for designing and producing plans for a wide range of projects including public capital improvement projects, commercial sites, subdivisions, apartment buildings, and roads. The position will also work on drafting plans to identify key infrastructure on a variety of project types.

This person will be expected to work well on a team and uphold high standards of communication and professionalism. The role is highly collaborative and will require the drafter to take direction from multiple Project Managers and Engineers. 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team.
  • Ensure drawings are in accordance with company drafting standards, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
  • Complete redline drafting as directed by the Project Manager and Engineers

Required Qualifications: 

  • 2-4 years of experience AutoCAD software to produce drawings
  • Associates Degree 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • AutoCAD Certification
  • Knowledge in Autodesk Civil 3d and/or Autodesk Revit
