WGM Group is seeking an HR Generalist to support its growing engineering team in the vibrant mountain town of Missoula, MT. WGM Group is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering planning and design firm that plans and develops community-oriented and diverse projects in the Northern Rockies.

Job Summary: 

The Human Resource Generalist will assist the Human Resource Director with complex and specialized administrative tasks at all business locations. This role facilitates the human resources processes by managing and overseeing records, assisting in the implementation of the ADP HRIS system, administering health and welfare plans, and hiring/onboarding new employees.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Performs the administrative functions needed to execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; occupational health and safety; training and development; and process development and improvement.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assists in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
  • Maintains new and accurate position descriptions; Developing a thorough understanding of the organization’s function, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies

Preferred Education/ Experience:

  • Proficiency and experience with ADP Workforce Now. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience. 
  • SHRM-CP/HRCP credential or ability to obtain within two years.
