Job Description

Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) communicate directly with customers and respond to a variety of customer needs and requests. The majority of communication is via phone interactions but does include other channels such as web, fax, mail, and email.  CSRs take into account organizational values as they commit to meeting the needs of customers.  CSRs are subject to call monitoring.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
  • Work a 24x7 schedule rotation that will include core hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and availability for emergency call outs
  • Follow established service order closing processes to stop and start customer billing
  • Meet or exceed performance standards as determined by NorthWestern Energy
  • Ability to understand and explain rate information and bill calculations
  • Administers credit program within the prescribed scope
  • Listen and respond appropriately to customer needs while reviewing and entering data on a computer
  • Type memos, e-mails, and other correspondence in an accurate, timely manner
  • Respond to all customer requests and emergency situations professionally and accurately by following established policy and procedures
  • Perform calculations to determine customer payments and other account-related activity
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of required testing and training program.
  • Must be able to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record. 
  • Proficient typing skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and other computer applications
  • Excellent attendance record
