Financial Accountant- Bozeman

Purpose and Scope of Position

The Financial Accountant (FA) will serve as the organization’s principal financial analyst under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.  They will ensure the accuracy of source data, preparation of reports within WDS reporting software, and analyze the data product for aberrations and trends that may impact the organization.  In addition, they will serve as the financial reporting ombudsman for other departments, as prioritized by the CFO.

Organizational Relationship 

The responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will be assigned by the CFO, but in many of the processes, they will work closely with the Controller as the source of much of the financial data, and other departments as consumers of the FA’s work product.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Check source data in the ERP system(s) for accuracy
• Prepare previously determined standard reports, QAQC for accuracy and clear communications
• Receive requests for new analytical reports, define the scope of work, discuss with CFO, and design report
• Become the subject matter expert on the financial analytic platform
• Track and understand company KPI’s
• Think outside the box in innovative ways to use financial analytics to better achieve organizational objectives
  
  

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications (i.e. education, certifications, etc…)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or related highly preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Experience

• Basic Accounting understanding
• Statistical inference skills
• Ability to communicate well in writing, speaking, and presentations
• Extreme confidentiality
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to reason through processes to logical conclusions and defend 
• Ability to use computer systems to complete responsibilities

 Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift 15-lbs
