Job Description

Today, we're looking for an experienced Director of Content Marketing to lead the company’s content marketing strategy and execution. You’ll support the overall vision, mission, and growth strategies for the company, and will be responsible for managing our branded content creation to drive measured engagement and action across all of LumenAd’s channels. Through smart and timely content creation and distribution, you’ll drive web traffic and brand awareness. You’re a natural at creating "shareable" content, distributing content on the appropriate platforms, and measuring the results of marketing activity. You will develop original campaigns with innovative, high-quality creative content in a collaborative, fun, and fast-paced environment.  Reporting to LumenAd’s VP Marketing, this is a fantastic opportunity to own a highly visible and valuable piece of LumenAd marketing.  


  • Set the content marketing strategy, ensuring that LumenAd’s narratives are in support of messaging strategies, product decisions, and business benefits
  • Develop a high-quality output of educational, engaging, and creative content that delivers on content strategy, drives lead generation and positions LumenAd as a thought leader among research and product management communities 
  • Create and oversee content that spans many formats, including reports, blog posts, case studies, articles, podcasts, emails, bylines, and formats to be determined, and multiple properties, including LumenAd’s website, resources page, and social networking channels 
  • Partner with account teams on client stories, executive leadership on bylines, research teams on platform insights, product marketing on content needs that support buyer journeys. Our Director of Demand Generation will be your closest “customer” internally.
  • Measure and track content, and report quarterly to the leadership team on content performance 
  • Manage organic content promotion and employee advocacy on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn 
  • Create and oversee an editorial calendar 
  • Enhance LumenAd’s brand voice and editorial point of view
  • And other duties as needed to evolve this position

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field.
  • 5+ years of content marketing experience; you can share several examples of content campaign success from your recent past.
  • Experience with online community building.
  • Data-driven and highly analytical.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency with social media analytics.
  • Time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Success Over the Next 3 Years 

  • Leads and MQLs generated through LumenAd’s content continues to grow year-over-year 
  • Establish a consistent measurement mechanism, focused on both engagement — such as website traffic, readership, social media, and SEO metrics, as well as content performance — such as downloads, leads, and MQLs. 
  • Formulate content workflow processes that are repeatable for each format and property, so that content is consistently delivering on the marketing goals to drive leads, shorten the sales cycle, educate prospective buyers, and improve sales enablement 
  • Find ways to use marketing, website, email, or customer data in content campaigns or personalization opportunities
