The primary responsibility for the Operational Accounting Lead is managing a team of Operational Accountants during the 2021 fire season to deliver “clean data” work products for corporate accounting. This position requires the individual to work closely with several departments to ensure procedures are being followed as they should for processes to flow efficiently.
The Operational Accounting Lead supervises the team of Operational Accountants to QA/QC services performed and approves engine shift tickets to provide complete and accurate data for sub-contractors, employees, and clients. The Operational Accounting Lead must be detail-oriented to organize and track the engine shift tickets to ensure that all information is accurate and ready to be processed by corporate accounting.
This individual coordinates and organizes contact with field employees when engine shift tickets are not submitted or erroneous, or to address questions to ensure approval of the time to sub-contractors and clients occurs in an appropriate time frame. This individual is responsible for the final review and approval of expenses and time for the engine and individuals on the assignment, dictated by the engine shift ticket.
The Operational Accounting Lead works individually and with the team to support the Accounting Department in the accuracy and efficiency of this vital process of field operations. This individual works closely with the Data Processing Manager and their team on workflow, priorities, and ensuring correct information is being received from the field for corporate accounting to process.
