Job Description

The Data Migration Specialist (CommunitySuite) is a key member of Foundant’s Professional Services team. This individual will primarily work to successfully and efficiently complete client migration projects.  This position is responsible for the successful migration of all fund accounting-related data and constituency data as part of our clients’ CommunitySuite product implementations.  This will be accomplished using existing tools, communication with clients, extreme attention to detail, and logical thinking to convert client data from various data sources into a format easily imported to Foundant Products.  A successful candidate will be:

  • Use internal training programs to gain and maintain a core understanding of Foundant’s products, to provide exceptional client support
  • Maintain a core understanding of Foundant’s products with the ability to provide exceptional client support as needed
  • Identify client’s needs and develop an overall data migration project scope and timeline to completion
  • Communicate efficiently, effectively, and professionally with internal migrations team and Foundant clients
  • Hands-on work to support the migration and reconciliation of client’s historical financial, fundraising, and constituency data from multiple sources into Foundant software
  • Work within Excel and relational databases to convert client data for import into the appropriate Foundant product for client’s review and approval
  • Troubleshoot issues with data to achieve successful import into Foundant systems and pull in additional resources as needed for extra support
  • Prove reliability of data by verifying accuracy through unique checks and balances
  • Provide exceptional client support and consultation via phone, email, and occasionally in person

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven advanced excel or database skills, knowledge, and application
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Technical proficiency, in data analysis, problem-solving, and strategic thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to track numerous details
  • Familiarity or comfort working with external clients and managing timelines and deadlines for deliverables
  • Ability to engage and interact with internal teams to resolve client issues
  • Keen attention to detail for accuracy to deliver on internal and external customer requirements with a time-sensitive approach
  • Patience, empathy, and integrity approaching each situation with a fresh outlook and the client’s success in mind
  • Motivated, enthusiastic self-starter, who can complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to learn new software platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Raiser's Edge (RE), Financial Edge (FE), Granted Edge (GE), or Stellar Technology Solutions 
  • Relational database experience 
  • Undergraduate Finance or Accounting degree 
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
