IT Support Specialist Job Description

The IT Support Specialist is primarily responsible for helping end users resolve technical issues and ensure systems are accessible to staff. This role will report to the CIO and will work closely with all internal staff.


· Keeping systems and software up to date

· Assist staff with technical issues through IT tickets

· Maintaining an accurate list of current inventory

· Hardware setup, deployment and repair

· Create and maintain detailed documentation

· Verify and test backups on a defined intervals

· Assist in larger IT projects with guidance

· Other duties as assigned by CIO

Skills and Qualifications

· Knowledge with modern operating systems including Macintosh, Windows, and Linux

· Solid understanding of network design and technologies

· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

· Attention to detail

· Organized

· Ability to follow through and complete tasks independently

· Process improvement and automation

· Punctuality and reliability

· Strong written and verbal communications skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritize


· High school diploma required

· Associates degree in IT related field a plus OR at least 1 year hands-on experience

· Professional certifications encouraged
