The Recruiting Operations Lead is an essential partner to the Talent Acquisition team at WDS. You will work in a cross-functional environment to deliver on high priority projects that lead to operational efficiency and recruiter enablement. You are a detail-oriented Talent Acquisition professional who is an expert in sourcing and social media and is excited to drive growth and efficiencies. You will lead all recruiting for the U.S. This position will manage a team of talent acquisition specialists with varying levels of experience and competencies, driving performance and development of each individual as well as the unified team.

In this role, you will manage all recruiting-related activities, equipping recruiters with effective tools and resources to approach the full-life cycle hiring process. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing candidate sourcing strategies that enable the corporate and field operations talent acquisition specialists to increase the volume of qualified, diverse talent hired into the organization.

You will act as a leader to the Corporate and/or Operations Talent Acquisition team driving premium processes and standards as they align to our HR goals and company initiatives. You should have strong skills in time management/prioritization, demonstrate push-back with a sense of urgency and understand the value of providing optimal service to each stakeholder.

The Recruiting Operations Lead reports to the HR Manager with a dotted line to the Vice President of Human Resources.


  • Lead, motivate and develop a diverse talent acquisition team
  • Manage the implementation of all active talent acquisition projects (i.e. Employee Referral Program, Seasonal Hiring, Candidate Diversity Tracking & Metrics, Sourcing, and Social Media).
  • Develop and create a strategy and plan to provide a framework for how we operationalize and implement a comprehensive social media and candidate sourcing campaign
  • Facilitate effective talent acquisition discussions with leaders and help them forecast their talent needs in line with the function and business strategy
  • Develop best practices for hiring managers and interview teams
  • Anticipate workforce changes and influence the timing of hiring to support the organization in achieving its business goals
  • Create meaningful metrics to measure improvements in the experience, success, and impact on the organization
  • Liaise and consult with cross functional stakeholders
  • Manage specific talent acquisition initiatives and participate in other cross-functional projects
  • Create and execute comprehensive project plans for new ways of recruiting field operations staff
  • Partner with stakeholders in the HR and Finance divisions to provide a broad understanding of interdependencies across systems/tools.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in a recruiting position.
  • 5-7 years experience developing and performing sourcing strategies and social media.
  • Experience utilizing Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms to establish talent pipelines
  • Experience establishing relationships with community colleges and universities to establish talent pipelines
  • Experience managing, training or mentoring others within a recruitment team with successful employee development.
  • Experience sourcing diverse pipelines.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to recruitment.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.


  • Proven experience recruiting diverse pipelines for wildland firefighters
  • Experience with ADP – ATS system.
  • Prior experience with recruiting and/or managing process with recruitment agencies and executive search firms.
  • Influencing hiring managers on corporate initiatives and driving appropriate business decisions.
  • Experience influencing change management and process improvement initiatives.
