Position Overview:

Working in the control room means monitoring 50 to 100 jobs, keeping track of voltage levels on signals, connectivity issues between signals and the internet, and responding to calls from job sites across the nation. A great call center tech is quickly able to find out which job a caller is calling from, assess the status of things at the job site, and understand what the caller needs. The Control Center Technician will need to almost intuitively understand the cardinal directions on job sites, as well as use directional terms like “westbound” and “eastbound.”

Sometimes the Control Center Technician will need to escalate a call, which means riding that fine line between figuring it out on your own, to knowing when it’s time to call in the heavy-hitters. Being tech-savvy and a “computer person” is a must because the signals run on software built in-house, so the more a person can understand how software is made, the better.
