Job Description

The Manager for Nonprofit Sales supports and manages daily operations for the Nonprofit Sales teams, ensuring processes and team members are running efficiently to maximize revenue. As a Manager for Nonprofit Sales, you will be completely immersed in our company’s strategy as we continue to develop solutions that help our clients manage their day-to-day operations and the causes they care about most. The right team member will be well-rounded, flexible, creative, forward thinking, and work well with others across the organization. The following responsibilities for this role are outlined below:  

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day sales operations for Nonprofit solutions
    • Manage Nonprofit Sales team members and sales objectives through consistent formal and informal meetings and one-on-ones.
    • Analyze and effectively communicate monthly forecast and sales results within Sales and across the company including details surrounding why we are winning and why we are not winning opportunities
    • Work with Marketing team to monitor quantity and quality of leads and coordination with SDR and BDR teams.
    • Support Sales team with prospect requests for security or legal reviews including escalation to executive leadership and legal counsel as needed.
  • Implement and manage an agile sales team structure and best practices to accelerate growth in clients, revenue, and expansion of products
  • Motivate & support – be accessible and inspire all Nonprofit Sales team members, recognize and utilize strengths of team members and provide recognition as appropriate
  • Talent succession planning – guide team members on their continued growth and professional development through regular one-on-one meetings. VP of Sales will also hold periodic one-on-one meetings with each team member to continue to set direction on goals and manage goals
  • Align with VP on departmental goals and develop any action plans where needed
  • Track and communicate Nonprofit Sales KPIs within the Sales Department and across company-wide status update meetings
  • Lead the weekly Nonprofit sales meetings and assist with the monthly/quarterly sales analysis for company-wide meetings
  • Assist with Nonprofit Sales Team Plan and Quota Plan, including individual and team quarterly quota allocation and modeling.
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline with timely sales forecasts, proactive internal communication, and excellent documentation of activities and client commitments in the required systems (e.g. Salesforce).
  • Ensure a seamless handoff from Nonprofit Sales Team to Client Services and Support teams
  • Meet with Client Services teams to ensure Sales is consistently setting proper expectations with new clients on product functionality, implementation process and support experience
  • Work with Product Management to provide feedback and prioritization, for product improvement as well as possible strategies for new segments Foundant should consider
  • Excel in cross-departmental collaboration:  Provide feedback to Marketing on sales tools, product and service positioning, market intelligence, and campaigns; work closely with customer services and support to facilitate a seamless customer experience; maintain accurate, accessible documentation on client commitments; cultivate good working relationships across the company.
  • Continuously work to improve processes – drive process evolution, consult frequently with team members, be open to new ideas and support independent thinking, capture and organize ideas into actionable tasks and execute accordingly to help drive efficiencies and improve customer service.
  • Collaborate with management - communicate issues and raise visibility, address concerns and questions in a timely manner, work with leadership cross-departmentally as needed.
  • Assume active role in regular management and leadership meetings
  • Take part in educational programs, webinars, conferences, and client events to build your expertise, expand your personal network, and support Foundant’s mission to maximize the impact of the philanthropic community.

 

Required qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience as a manager of a sales team for a fundraising, CRM, accounting or financial software application
  • A proven track record of managing a sales team with consistent over-quota achievement within a solutions software vendor
  • Experience working with/in the philanthropic sector, specifically with nonprofits
  • Passion for the Foundant’s mission
  • Experience working in a Lean-Agile/ other Scaled Agile Framework
  • Experience working with software used by nonprofits, for example Bloomerang, Classy, iDonate, DonorPerfect, Blackbaud is preferred.
  • Salesforce experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication as well as listening skills both internally and externally
  • Highly motivated to reach goals
  • Strong team building skills – able to establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly
  • Desire to Travel: approximately 20-30% may be required
