SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION

The Storekeeper directs and supervises warehouse staff to maintain, organize, issue, and deliver supplies for field-related projects.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates leadership consistent with NorthWestern Energy's code, values, policies, processes and controls
  • Utilizes effective management practices to maintain employee engagement and productivity
  • Effectively manages budget, ensuring proper cost controls
  • Leads special projects as required utilizing effective change and project management techniques
  • Coordinate warehouse and supplies
  • Perform inventory counting/control
  • Complete required documentation or computer work
  • Perform research and purchasing of new equipment
  • Work directly with all departments and supervision to ensure purchase of correct materials
  • Create reports (e.g. cycle counts, safety, budget, housekeeping issues)
  • Complete facility inspections
  • Oversee, report, and present on worksite safety
  • Ensure direct reports are fulfilling safety obligations
  • Supervises warehouse staff in Billings along with Tech/Ops (Lewistown)
  • Work extended hours including evenings and weekends in response to acute service needs
  • Safely perform individual lifts of parts, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds from floor to chest level

Marginal Work Functions

*These functions may be considered essential based on location and other factors.

  • Receive and ship freight*
  • Perform material handling of freight between warehouse and trucks, including skillful and safe use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists*
  • Pull equipment and stage jobs for work crews*
  • Unload and restock materials from freight trucks*
  • Performing oil field equipment testing (i.e. sampling oils from returned transformers for submittal for PCB testing prior to transformer recycling or disposal)*

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Associate's Degree in business, materials management, or supply chain field is preferred
  • Experience with warehouse or logistics operations preferred
  • Extensive and successful warehouse operations and inventory management experience
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record preferred
  • Forklift operation certification (Training Available)
  • Commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of safety policies/procedures
