SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION

Data systems Analyst ensures the integrity of data within Substation Operations. Primarily responsible for the administration and development of many databases and applications used for Substation Operations, compliance and reliability. Other duties include producing queries, reports and analytics for NorthWestern Energy leadership and others, as requested from many data sources.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
  • Assist, plan and develop input systems and databases
  • Assist in the integration between databases and engineering software
  • Configure new technology software
  • Conduct work meetings to facilitate discussions and document processes
  • Perform analysis on data collected during monthly process and prepare reports for monthly meetings
  • Provide technical support to operation, engineering and planning groups in Transmission organizations
  • Verify the accuracy of all current system data
  • Effectively and efficiently organize, plan, execute and coordinate multiple work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates
  • Develop and maintain technical, process, and training documentation
  • Develop controls and procedures to manage compensation programs and ensure compliance with established policies and practices
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual reliability reporting
  • Responsible for developing reports for evaluating system design criteria
  • Be familiar with data management systems and related systems in other departments
  • Travel to meetings and conferences (Up to 10% traveling out of the year)

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, similar field of study or equivalent years of experience
  • Excellent computer skills, especially query languages
  • Knowledge of gas and electric design parameters and codes preferred
  • Must be able to adapt to changing work requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadline requirements
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
