The Senior Finance Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for supporting the group’s key functions including financial analysis, planning, forecasting, management reporting, and product and client profitability. Will join a team of analysts to help drive transformation to a culture where enhanced financial acumen and decision-making based on documented analysis is the expectation throughout the Bank, working with key leaders to help inform the strategy and direction of individual business lines and the Bank as a whole.
Works across the organization, interacting with other finance, accounting, analytics and operations personnel to identify and resolve accounting and financial reporting-related issues. May be required to present complex financial analysis to key stakeholders, including business line leaders and executive management, and must be able to effectively communicate key assumptions, findings and business implications as well as risks and opportunities in each business case.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Partners with business leaders across the Bank in the annual planning and budgeting process, resulting in a budget that reflects the business goals and strategies to achieve them.
Supports the development and delivery of performance reporting with fully burdened financials & key performance metrics at all business entity levels.
Aggregate, analyze & document performance to budget and forecast to support management’s understanding of financial results and drive decision-making.
Supports the team in developing a mid and long-range forecasting methodology.
Works with business line leaders to fully understand drivers of financial performance and supports strategic decision making with scenario-based modeling and business case development.
Delivers standardized or ad-hoc reporting & analytics to supply leaders with analysis that supports sound decision making.
Play a key role in the execution of the roadmap for the ongoing enhancement and maturation of our Business Finance program, firm-wide analytical capabilities and product and client profitability.
Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the bank.
Work collaboratively in order to influence data structures and quality to support the development of analytics, models, and various reporting platforms.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of related experience and/or equivalent training.

Strong interpersonal skills. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word applications. Ability to prioritize workload and meet stringent deadlines. Ability to work well with a variety of personalities and provide guidance where no functional authority exists. Must be flexible in approach and adaptable under pressure. Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills. Must be organized and a self-starter. Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, including some Saturdays.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, business periodicals, and other professional journals. Ability to effectively respond to technical and complex questions from management, workgroups and others in the organization, both in writing and orally.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Ability to interpret and apply written technical information to the company’s unique circumstances. Ability to solve practical problems and process variables in situation where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
