Software Developer Intern - Missoula, MT

FYR Diagnostics is currently seeking a part-time or full-time Software Developer Intern to work in a dynamic team developing and maintaining custom software and applications.  This position will be in-person in Missoula, MT.

Preferred Start Date: June 1st, 2022 

Hourly Rate: $17-$20/hour 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Be willing to learn and master new technologies 

• Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers and developers  

• Design, implement, and maintain application functionality, including configuring and upgrading new systems 

• Troubleshoot issues that could be related to configuration errors, user errors, or a combination of multiple factors 

• Test and evaluate applications to optimize accuracy, speed, and user-interface 

• Ensure that changes follow procedure, including extensive testing and communication among users 

• Uphold strict compliance with HIPAA 

Core Requirements:

• Comfortability with a high degree of independence 

• Minimum 2 years of coding experience  

• Will accept formal education in lieu of work experience 

• Experience with at least three of the following: Javascript, TypeScript, Node, Python, SQL, MongoDB, RESTful APIs, or AWS infrastructure. 

Nice-to-have: 

• Experience with HIPAA or healthcare data 

• Experience developing software 

• Bachelor level degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or related field 

• Familiarity with TCP/IP based communication, including file transfer methods such as SFTP/FTP 

• Hands-on experience with Git in a shared repository
