onX is seeking a Product Designer with a passion for designing products that are built to serve our wide array of outdoor customers. As an onX Product Designer, you will help design multiple projects across a multi-product platform. Your focus will be on all aspects pertaining to product design, including but not limited to UX, visual design, UI, and ideation. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic growing company and make an impact on the business. The best applicants will have strong product, visual, and UX design skills to help design and deliver projects while understanding customer use cases, delivering prototypes, working with and building on top of our design system, and aiding in user testing to help determine the optimal interaction and visual design. This position will report to the Product Design Manager.


Montana or an onX Talent Center. onX’s corporate offices are located in Missoula and Bozeman, Montana. This position can be performed near a corporate office or remotely from one of onX’s “Talent Centers,” which include (but are not limited to) Texas, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. (Essential Job Duties)

  • Utilize high-quality product, interaction, UX, and visual design skills to deliver assigned projects
  • Envision new experiences based on user insights and product goals
  • Design for multiple projects at a time, managing time, goals, and cross-functional collaboration effectively
  • Help design and maintain an understanding of the customer journey through the planning, field use, and post-trip review phases of the customer lifecycle
  • Design high value, highly engaging product, visual, and UX deliverables while maintaining consistent and holistic design across multiple apps and markets
  • Able to produce quality design concepts quickly, be open to feedback, and translate feedback rapidly into design iterations
  • Deliver prototypes and conduct user testing to determine optimal interaction and visual design
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with product managers, software engineers, GIS analysts, researchers, and other project partners


Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Design or equivalent experience
Four (4) or more years of design experience in product, interactive and visual design at a high growth consumer or SMB software, mobile application, or consumer internet company or consultancy


Knowledge of and comfort with contemporary software design tools and technologies such as Figma, Sketch, or equivalent
Desire to learn and grow as an interactive designer while being a positive influence on the team
Embrace and thrive in a dynamic workplace with a high tolerance for growth, change, and experimentation
Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems
Collaborative, well organized, and efficient, a strong bias for action
Strong verbal presentation and written communications skills
