About this position:

The communications and marketing coordinator is part of a small team that is responsible for providing the overall branding strategy, marketing and account services for NorthWestern Energy; in addition to fulfilling printing, design, production, and communication needs.

About this job:

  • Develop and integrate internal and external communications with video, graphics, and/or still photographs that tell the story effectively and broaden marketing effort reach with additional audiences
  • Drive consistent marketing efforts across various platforms
  • Assist with various social media channel content management to provide key messaging
  • Assists with development and delivery of corporate presentations
  • Coordinates multiple projects, while meeting deadlines
  • plan and coordinate companywide promotional material needs
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of company-sponsored events
  • Conducts research and analysis of data needed in reviewing, planning, prioritizing, and budgeting for event/sponsorship opportunities
  • Provide analysis required to measure and calibrate team performance and opportunities
  • Supports budget preparation and tracking
  • Identify synergies in events, sponsorships, and/or partnerships opportunities enabling growth and brand awareness goals
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure brand alignment and offer effectiveness to identify areas of opportunity for branding, customer and revenue growth
  • Assist with the development and planning of team building events
  • Maintains marketing related protocols to keep the company in compliance
  • Lead all phases of events/tradeshows strategy and execution, including customer experience planning, key messaging, stakeholder coordination, content development, budget management, staffing and attending to ensure production/execution and post-event evaluation/recap
  • Develop & create impactful and engaging content (digital, visual and traditional) to promote key messaging to target audiences
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and vendors to maximize efficiencies and ensure compliance with budget and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a corporate office environment and willing to travel on an as-need basis (up to 40% of time)
  • Perform individual lifts and carry supplies up to 25 pounds

  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a portfolio that demonstrates equivalent training or experience
  • Three to five years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or public relations/marketing department/function
  • Proficiency with digital and social media platforms and tools, including the ability to use an iPhone to capture engaging photos and videos to post
  • Experience with programs and design, including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong project management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and establish clear priorities
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Excellent proofreading skills, with critical attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to work independently as well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality of work
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships and effectively manage expectations
  • Maintain discretion and protect confidential information
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule with occasional weekends and evenings to support events
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
