DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will provide an opportunity to work closely with our team of Credit Analysts, Commercial Lenders, and Loan Servicing team memebers.  The individual will work on special projects related to Credit Analysis, including input of financial statement data, performing research, compiling data and making recommendations.  Develop working knowledge of loan policy and gain the ability to communicate its interpretation to loan committee. 

Works under general supervision, performs routine duties related to preparing and, assembling documentation. Interpersonal skills to meet and deal effectively with the banks in a courteous manner responding to a variety of situations with professional discretion. Well developed written and verbal communication skills to maintain quality customer service in all aspects of the position. Has open communications with supervisor through sharing and accepting suggestions and ideas. Adjustments to change are made as necessary while maintaining a positive attitude

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrollend in the Montana State University Business Banking program - Jake Jabs College of Business
  • Be pursing a degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Desire to purse a career in Community Banking

  • Experience with marketing computer software, online applications, VRM analytics, and Google Adwords
  • A high degree of reliability and dependability used to follow-through and meet commitments and agreements in a timely manner

  • Exhibits excellent responsiveness and follow-up in assuming responsibility for and delivering on commitments

  • Demonstrated high level of quality, accuracy and attention to detail

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Input financial statement data into company software and analyze to determine credit worthiness of client.
  • Prepare cash flow worksheets to demonstrate borrower’s ability to repay loans.
  • Gain exposure to the loan approval process by completing credit authorization worksheets.  Input data, build tables, and borrowers relationships into presentation.
  • Develop a working knowledge of loan policy and gain the ability to communicate its interpretation to loan committee.
  • Research regulations and compliance related to bank policy and procedures.   
  • Scans credit file documents, then reviews the documents insuring the image quality and file is complete.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects as assigned.
  • Shadow Commercial Lender and Business Development Officer during the sales call process with prospective clients.
  • Excellent customer service skills and previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in many systems and software used by First Security Bank employees.
  • Projects a professional image to maintain credibility with customers and associates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently to carry out assigned tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
