Assists in Compliance Programs within the Advisory and CRA Groups to facilitate HTLF Banks transition to CFPB.
Primary Responsibilities
- Participates in the establishment of and maintenance of the Compliance Management System (CMS) including preparing training and reporting.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and execution of the CMS including specific regulatory programs.
- Assists in the administration of the Regulatory Administers Change Management System while working with HTLF business lines to update controls, procedures, and technology.
- Assists in the management of compliance projects.
- Acts as a compliance resource for business units.
- Serves as a Compliance Program owner for complex compliance regulatory matters and recommends appropriate changes and updates where needed.
- Assists in the identification, evaluation and summarization of emerging risks and documents those risks in writing.
- Analyzes and provides credible challenges to business units assessment of policies, procedures, processes, and systems.
- Listens to discussions with HTLF’s regulators in connection with inquiries, inspections, and exams.
- Listens to regulator trainings as necessary
- Creates materials for reporting to Risk and Audit Committees.
- Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Business Administration/Management Or Related Field required
- 3-5 years of experience compliance and/or audit required
- Strong knowledge of business processes and IT technologies utilized in the Financial Services Industry required
- Strong project management, budgeting, and interpersonal skills, makes sound decisions, and exhibits initiative and intuitive thinking required
- Executive presence and a reputation for building strong relationships with stakeholders and leading teams, both direct reports and in peer/influence models required. Effectiveness in working within a large scale and complex matrix organizations required
- Solid understanding of rules, laws, and regulations, and specific regulatory requirements impacting financial services required including the design and implementation of Compliance programs required
- Excellent communication skills in interacting with non-executives, executive management, regulators, and across several business lines and control functions required
- Effective persuasion skills, the ability to work effectively at the highest levels of the organization, and networking and influencing skills required. This person will be comfortable acting as an agent for positive change with agility and flexibility required
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions through concise and clear messaging required
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) - American Bankers Association - ABA preferred
