WHAT YOU WILL DO
onX is seeking a Geospatial Analyst with a passion for geospatial data and technology that enables our customers’ outdoor adventures. As an onX Geospatial Analyst II, you will perform quality control and error report corrections for the core data platform that drives the suite of onX mobile apps. Your focus will be on updating and improving public and private lands, trails data, and outdoor-related points of interest (POIs). This position will report to our Lead Geospatial Analyst within our Data Operations team.
As a Geospatial Analyst, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like:
Research and acquire geospatial data from external data providers.
Professionally communicate with external data providers via telephone and email.
Conduct quality control checks on spatial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Run (and develop) custom standardized tools and scripts from disparate data sources.
Communicate with internal and external customers to address any issues.
Maintain documentation and update technical procedures related to spatial data and related applications.
Work with Customer Experience to resolve prioritized customer error reports.
Track work assignments in Jira boards.
Assist in the development and execution of Geospatial analysis to support various projects and initiatives.
Critically analyze existing processes and make suggestions for improvements.
Provide support to ad hoc data processing needs.
Provide support to other members of the Data Operations team.
This position is a member of our Data Operations team which includes other geospatial professionals that share some of the duties listed above.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geograph, Geospatial Analysis or closely related field.
Experience: two years in Geospatial or a related field.
Experience with desktop Geospatial software (QGeospatial)
Familiarity with open source Geospatial data and code.
Ability to follow instructions as provided in process documentation.
Detail, oriented, highly organized self-starter.
Ability to maintain a positive, helpful, constructive attitude.
Ability to establish and maintain efficient working relationships with other onX employees.
Desire to contribute to a strong team dynamic.
ADDED BONUSES

Experience with Jira project management
Experience utilizing github for file version management
Experience working with cadastral, trails/transportation, and/or points of interest (POI) data
Experience working with third-party data providers
Experience with incorporating data science analyses into work priorities
Ability to read and modify existing SQL statements
Ability to read and modify existing Python code
Experience with data and file management automation
WHERE YOU CAN WORK
Montana or remote from select locations. onX’s corporate offices are located in Missoula and Bozeman, Montana. This position can be performed near a corporate office or remotely from one of onX’s “Basecamps,” which are emerging locations where fully remote onXers cluster for work and adventure. onX’s current Basecamps are located within a 120-mile radius of the following cities: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED
onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $60,000 to $65,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
