onX is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Cartographer to join our team of cartographers and engineers in designing and implementing a cohesive brand of cartography across multiple outdoor recreation apps. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality interactive maps and visualizations, using Mapbox styling and vector tile technology. The ideal candidate should have experience in full stack cartography, with a strong emphasis on basemap design, and be able to balance aesthetics with performance optimization. The candidate should also be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver complex mapping projects. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Technical Cartography.
Montana or remote from select locations. onX’s corporate offices are located in Missoula and Bozeman, Montana. This position can be performed near a corporate office or remotely from one of onX’s “Basecamps,” which are emerging locations where fully remote onXers cluster for work and adventure. onX’s current Basecamps are located within a 120-mile radius of the following cities: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
Additionally, being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment. We do not sponsor work visas (of any kind ) for this position at this time.

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. Applicants can expect to make between $120,000 to $140,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
