Job Description

Summary

The Senior Director of Solutions plays an integral role in the execution of the global solution strategy and go-to-market initiatives ensuring achievement of Workiva business growth. The Senior Director of Solutions is a results-oriented business leader and influencer and will work directly with the Solution Owners, who have P&L / revenue responsibility for portfolio growth and company commercial success. In addition to working with the Solution Owners, you will execute your operational plan through Workiva’s matrixed leadership of dedicated functional groups supporting the strategy.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and ensure successful design, implementation, and management of cross-functional solution initiatives.
  • Develop and implement tactical plans that the solution’s core team leaders can use to ensure initiatives and deliverables are on-time, achieve quantifiable business objectives
  • Influence a matrix-based cross-functional team of dedicated core team leads across marketing, product, sales, and commercial operations to ensure quality execution of cross-functional programs and growth initiatives
  • Analyze program performance data against solution goals / objectives, generate insights and recommendations to address any strategic concerns. Evaluate and implement program improvements to drive business growth at scale.
  • Develop and implement techniques that solution leaders can use to ensure that deliverables are on-time and within budget, while increasing efficiency and reducing issues
  • Evangelize the persona and markets served, monitoring competitor activity and market regulatory requirements
  • Ensure dev-to-launch resources and activities are aligned to the solution product delivery plan
  • Meet with prospective/existing clients and provide support to the solution sales and success teams and ensure we have an up to date view on product-market fit
  • Align with the regional partners and associated Workiva Alliance leads on tactical plans to drive partner sourced bookings and attachment for partner-delivered services
  • Influence & align with the services and customer success team to ensure quality customer support and enablement, and a focus on customer value/experience, retention, and growth
  • Represent and promote the Workiva platform and solutions through networking with existing and prospective clients and partners, attending conferences and industry groups, and developing and/or presenting the platform.

 

What You'll Need

  • Education
    • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
    • MBA a plus.
  • Experience
    • 10+ years of progressive business experience, including GTM experience both planning and execution
    • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver SaaS solutions
    • Experience leading and supporting all activities related to program planning
    • Scaling product portfolio / business units throughout the entire product lifecycle
    • Expanding and innovating existing product offerings
    • Experience working with partners for GTM and delivery/implementation (desired)
  • Skills
    • Strong GTM and operational expertise
    • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking
    • Demonstrated ability to influence internal organization on strategic initiatives
    • Ability to identify priorities, multi-task, meet deadlines and change course quickly
    • Self-motivated, capable of working independently, proficient at problem solving as well as proactively recommending and implementing improvements or solutions
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Strong analytic capabilities, experience developing operational plans with KPIs
    • Evaluate performance/results vs plan, identify and resolve business risks/issues, make recommendations for operational improvements against strategy
    • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining effective working relationships with peers and management by applying accountability, trust, and demonstrating urgency, responsiveness and follow-through
    • Familiarity with digital transformation of finance and the technology landscape
  • Travel Requirement
    • Flexible up to 30%
  • Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
    • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
