About this position:

This program is for rising juniors, seniors and new grads and is a paid internship. Join the benefits and compensation team at NorthWestern Energy to help us find new and innovative ways to share benefits and compensation information with leaders and employees, improve our data analysis practices, and modernize our department. You'll also get to learn more about benefits and compensation analysis and reporting, and support the buildout of a brand for our benefits. This may include data analysis, responding to data requests, project support, RFP participation and analysis, policy and guideline reviews and much more. The selected intern will provide recommendations based on observations of opportunities to streamline actions and improve the functions of the department.

What will your primary focus be?

We are planning to develop a unique brand for NorthWestern Energy's benefits in 2024 and we would like the intern to work with us on this project. You will be involved in defining our communications strategy, partnering with vendors, building out communications, and developing an employee focused communications calendar.

About this job:

  • Review documentation, gather data, and conduct interviews to understand process requirements to convert to a process map
  • Help brainstorm ideas to improve efficiency by identifying process bottlenecks, repetition, error contributors and delays
  • Organize and facilitate process walkthrough
  • Perform some employee and retiree data maintenance to better understand process requirements
  • Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs
  • Help plan and design business processes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Perform research and analysis in support of operations
  • Assist in resolving business issues using systems and data
  • Estimate costs and benefits of multiple actions and/or solutions and provide recommendations
  • Accountable for work assigned and completing each assigned task on time or ahead of schedule
  • Participate in organizational work meetings

  • Must be in good academic standing
