Job Description:

Montana Instruments, a growing high-tech Company in Bozeman Montana, is seeking a Buyer with the previous purchasing experience.

The Buyer position requires high attention to detail, knowledge of purchasing techniques, the ability to manage large volumes of information, and make fiscally responsible decisions on a daily basis.

Preferable candidates will have previous purchasing experience, possess excellent interpersonal skills, have experience working within time deadlines, managing suppliers, purchase orders, and inbound inventory parts.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Materials team to determine optimal inventory levels and order quantities

  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with suppliers

  • Assist with inventory control processes

  • Support new product introduction


Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a buyer
  • Thorough understanding of inventory control practices and concepts
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Familiarity with BOMs and assemblies and how they are constructed
  • Relationship management experience


Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Preferred experience purchasing both domestic and international
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to growth and continually evolving requirements
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Excellent multitasking skills, ability to handle and manage multiple data streams as they relate to purchasing needs
