About this position:

The Accountant position performs a variety of accounting assignments and works with a team to maintain general ledger account balances in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as state and federal regulatory agencies.

About this job:

  • Participate in monthly accounting close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and analyze variances to identify trends and potential issues
  • Account for capital investments for a select group of departments, including processing asset transactions, analyzing costs or asset records, and generating reports
  • Perform accounting work related to interconnection projects including cost tracking, invoicing, and generating reports
  • Prepare journal entries and complete processing to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
  • Prepare supporting schedules, analysis and reports for monthly closing, and audits as needed
  • Integrate information from a variety of sources and logically analyze and interpret the data to identify appropriate next steps and relevant issues
  • Build strategic relationships with other departments to support the integrity of recording and reporting financial information, to accomplish goals, to resolve issues, and to enhance/improve processes
  • Ability to research and bring forward relevant information to trouble shoot issues

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of products
