Cushing Terrell, a national architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a Billing & Payroll Specialist. This position will be an in office position and in Billings, Montana. Please make sure to submit both your resume and cover letter. 

Qualifications* what you will bring to the table:

  • An Accounting degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years or more experience in accounts receivable invoicing and other accounting functions
  • 3 years or more experience payroll processing in a multi-state environment

As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will*…

  • Prepares monthly billing for clients on national, regional, and local scale
  • Reviews & approves for accuracy new project setup on accounting system as it relates to the project contracts. Reviews project database information to maintain accurate records
  • Various reporting and assisting project managers as needed on financial details related to job costing
  • Maintains accurate and complete contract files for each project
  • Possesses an understanding of project accounting 
  • Fosters communication between the accounting department and project teams.  Assists project teams with questions
  • Processing of semi-monthly payroll for 500 multi-state team members and related reporting

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Review of project records for appropriate posting of hours to Company client & overhead projects
  • Responsible for processing payroll and maintaining the employee database regarding salary and pay 
  • performing data entry and reconciling timesheets
  • Support the accounting team as needed

*The majority of the time a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.

The salary for this position is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.

  • Expected Range*:  $40,000 to $51,000
  • The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus

*The actual salary offered for the role will be determined based on a variety of factors including but not limited to; years of experience, licensure status, location, level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
