The Senior Director of Marketing Technology is a thought leader with global oversight for establishing and directing the vision, strategy, and execution of Workiva’s global marketing technology. This role will lead the charge within Workiva’s global marketing organization to ensure a frictionless customer journey with a best in class technology stack. Owning the strategy and roadmap, this role will enhance and improve the marketing tech stack through gap analysis, tool selection, seamless data flow, performance reporting, integration planning, and optimization of existing systems. Collaborates with key internal contacts across Workiva and leads the relationship between Workiva and marketing technology vendors.
What You’ll Do
Develops and executes the global strategy for the marketing technology stack to align to corporate goals
Works across teams to facilitate and provide direction on gap analysis, solution selection, implementation management, and ongoing roadmap optimization
Owns governance, promotion, adoption of our marketing tools among marketers and marketing analysts, including documentation, rollout of new tools, and process creation
Partners with Marketing, Procurement, IT, and Business Operations teams to understand and align business strategies and organizational goals with technology solutions
Evaluates existing stack based on growth needs in EMEA and APAC, identifying gaps and forecasting technology requirements to enable global growth and alignment
Directs annual gap review and creates multi-year technology roadmap, collaborating with key players and forecasting barriers to scale
Translates business needs to technical requirements to guide system selection, and facilitate discovery of technical, resourcing, and other key considerations during evaluation
Oversees and manages relationships with key technology vendors, senior and executive leadership, and cross-team operational stakeholders
Forecasts and reports on technology performance, including ROI and implementation roadmap
Leads Quarterly Business Review (QBRs) or solution evaluations with stakeholders and vendors to align on needs, gaps, and next steps to optimize existing tech stack
Recommends and executes cross-system best practices and workflows, leveraging automation to ensure a continuous data flow between core Workiva systems and technologies
Proactively improves the quality of reporting and data by evaluating and identifying potential enhancements to future-proof business needs
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
12+ years progressive experience in marketing technology or closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred
Proven history scaling a marketing technology stack across multiple global regions
Experience in a fast-growing SaaS company with revenues of $1B or more
Proven experience creating and operationalizing global marketing strategies, including marketing automation, lead lifecycle, web and digital optimization, and martecs, and scaling/adapting across regions and languages
Experience mapping and understanding relational database systems, including Salesforce, Marketo, Google Analytics or similar tools
Experience working with marketing, sales, sales enablement, sales operations, customer success, and technical stakeholders to develop processes for a high-growth marketing organization; exceptional problem-solving skills are essential
Excellent analytical, project management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to interpret data, provide actionable insights, and lead multiple projects in a matrixed, global organization
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Minimal travel, less than 10%
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $174,000.00 - $296,000.00
✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
