As a key player in our expansion, the IT Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing our technological infrastructure. This position is essential for ensuring smooth operations and supporting our innovative projects. Your contributions will be vital to the success of our new Lewistown Montana location.

Your tasks

User Support:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and diagnose computer software and hardware systems across administrative offices and manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organization’s global IT policies.

  • Provide direct support to users by setting up hardware and software, diagnosing connectivity and data access issues, and addressing technology-related questions.

  • Collaborate with help desk personnel and technicians to effectively communicate with executives and employees, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Installation and Configuration of Networks:

  • Manage the organization’s servers and networks, performing setup, enhancement, and maintenance tasks to ensure seamless connectivity for workstations and manufacturing tools.

  • Configure network security settings and connect peripheral devices (e.g., servers, printers, scanners) to support multiple users and facilitate access to business-critical data.

Database Management:

  • Ensure proper data storage and organization for efficient retrieval, in compliance with organization’s global IT policies.

  • Set up data storage and retrieval protocols, manage permissions, and maintain data security and integrity during migrations, backups, and daily operations.

  • Generate reports and extract data as requested to support enterprise-wide database access.

Information Security Management:

  • Enhance information security by monitoring access logs, developing security policies, and implementing antivirus programs at workstations.

  • Conduct periodic audits and backups to prevent data loss and unauthorized access, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

General IT Duties:

  • Comply with VACOM's global IT policies while maintaining the organization’s technological infrastructure.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring systems are updated and secure.

  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software applications, providing necessary technical support and documentation.

  • Monitor hardware, software, and system performance metrics, documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests to identify and rectify issues.

  • Stay current on technological advancements and trends to anticipate needs for replacing or updating computer equipment.

  • Manage user accounts and access, perform data backups and disaster recovery procedures, and conduct regular security audits.

Work Environment:

  • This position is based in a fast-paced office environment.

  • While regular travel is not expected, occasional travel may be required for business events and meetings.

  • The role involves sitting for extended periods, standing, and requires visual acuity, manual dexterity, detailed verbal communication, and proficiency with computer keyboards.

  • You will work in a manufacturing environment with equipment, robotics, and chemicals. Adherence to required attire/uniforms/clean suits is necessary.

  • Be prepared to encounter wet surfaces, noise, and moving machines, which require attention to detail and cleanliness.

  • This position will be in a fast-paced office environment. While regular travel is not expected, occasional travel may be required for business events and meetings.

  • The role requires sitting for extended periods, standing, visual acuity, manual dexterity, detailed verbal communication, and proficiency with computer keyboards.

  • hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, with at least five (5) years of experience in IT roles, including database management, systems design/support, or network administration.

  • preferably possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
