Key Responsibilities
 
Team Leadership & Management
  • Manage the Business Development team, including Proposal Managers, BD Associates, and Recruiters
  • Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure alignment with team and company goals
  • Oversee daily operations, workload distribution, and professional development of team members
  • Foster a high-performance culture through mentorship, accountability, and collaboration

Lead Development & Pipeline Management
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities aligned with Speridian’s offerings
  • Research bid notifications and procurement sites to develop high-potential leads
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Dynamics CRM
  • Evaluate and present leads during sales meetings for pursuit decisions
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent business growth
Proposal & Sales Enablement
  • Assist in drafting high-quality proposals, presentations, and client-facing materials
  • Review proposals to ensure alignment with RFx requirements, company capabilities, and industry best practices
  • Work with proposal teams to ensure timely and compliant submission of responses
  • Identify opportunities to improve proposal quality, effectiveness, and win rates
  • Analyze win/loss data to refine strategy and boost future performance
Collaboration & Strategy
  • Partner closely with Sales and Business Development teams to review and engage qualified leads
  • Collaborate on strategies to improve lead engagement and client conversion
  • Participate in regularly scheduled sales meetings to align on targets and KPIs
  • Implement best practices and process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop forecasts and reports with actionable insights for leadership
Mentorship & Training
  • Lead training sessions and mentor junior business development team members
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-minded team environment
Market & Industry Research
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments
  • Identify new market segments and partnership opportunities
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand industry knowledge
Client Engagement & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with prospective clients and stakeholders
  • Communicate technical and non-technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
  • Understand and articulate Speridian’s products, services, and value propositions
  • Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, empathy, and adaptability in client interactions
  • Resolve conflicts professionally while maintaining positive client relationships
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in IT or a relevant industry
  • 5–10 years of experience in business development, proposal development, or sales
  • Proven track record of generating qualified leads and winning business
  • Expertise with CRM systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics CRM
  • Strong understanding of RFx processes, procurement regulations, and proposal compliance
  • Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and active listening
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence, conflict resolution skills, and adaptability
  • Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings, conferences, or trade shows
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with government or enterprise clients
  • Familiarity with SaaS and PaaS product sales
  • Previous experience in mentorship or team leadership roles
