LC Staffing is now hiring for a CNC Mill Lathe Machinist in beautiful Kalispell, Montana!

What you can expect to do:
•Operation of both Manual Mill and Lathe.
•Read and interpret prints and tolerances.
•Check programming for errors and/or potential crashes by utilizing single step and speed over-ride functions.
• Setting up and running parts quickly and accurately. (Standard +-.005 tolerance, but the ability to run some parts in the +-.0002 range for some operations as needed).
•Set up using hard jaws, soft jaws, and angle plates or any other holding techniques.
• Ensure the best finish, fast cycle times for machined parts, including speeds, feeds, holding - clamping techniques, minimal setups along with other items.
•Demonstrate understanding of Job tolerance that needs to be held, and the time needed for setup for that job. For simple setups, we would expect a time of 15 to 40 minutes, this of course depends on the previous setup of the parts just run.
•Use existing fixture plates and make new fixture plates when needed.
•Operate and understand measuring instruments and gages, i.e., height gages, micrometers, calipers, and go-no-go gages.
•Maintain and secure work tools and account for them daily.
•Configure and set needed offsets within the control.
•Load and save programs between CNC and computers
•Use the MDI mode and be able to change tools when broken or dull.
•Complete the first article checks on other team member parts.
•Participate in continuous improvement programs.
•Catalog fixtures for future use, make documents on the use of programs and fixtures allowing for quick setup of fixtures for future runs.
•Document setups for future runs.
Successful candidates will:
•Understand machine Codes such as rapid moves, linear and arc moves, drilling and boring, and thread milling G codes.
•Be able to sense when speeds, feeds, and coolant requirements in needing adjustment.
•Be able to competently run production jobs, including one-off, short-run, and longer running parts.
•Stay current/proficient with all applicable quality processes assigned with work.
•Have good communication with your supervisor, engineers, and operators from other disciplines to achieve objectives.
•Quickly determine when to ask for help, rather than struggling with a machining issue.
•Possess the manual dexterity required for machine operation.
•Be able to work overtime if asked by management
•Knowledgeable in the operation of Mazak and Mazatrol programming along with Fanuc based controllers. Minimum of 2 or more years’ experience; -OR-
•At least two dazzling, verifiable, indisputable letters of recommendation from past employers.
•Must possess an analytical ability to problem solve through various tasks.
Wage: $14-$22 per hour, DOE
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7 am-5:30 pm
