About this position:
This intern position will assist Hydro Plant Controls System (PCS) engineers with various tasks and projects including but not limited to: electronic hardware & software troubleshooting, HMI updates and creation, verifying and updating engineering drawings, and creating & updating PCS logic narrative descriptions.
About this job:
- Learn about the plant controls and SCADA activities required to run hydro-electric generation facilities
- Update or create HMI screens using Rockwell software
- Update or create PI tags or trend screens using OSI PI software
- Troubleshoot controls issues including field devices through to the control logic in the Rockwell Controllogix software
- Modify PLC ladder logic utilizing Rockwell software
- Participate in organizational work meetings
- Lifting of materials up to 35 pounds

- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
- Travel to NorthWestern Energy hydro facilities within the state of Montana required; some travel may be overnight

- Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record
- Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) major required
- Student must have completed Sophomore level or higher by start date
- Must be in good academic standing
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and to walk over uneven or wet terrain and surfaces
- Must possess strong customer service and computer technology problem resolution skills
- Must Provide GPA in Resume upon application
