Job Summary:

Performs bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce dental hand instruments by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other. 
  • Bends, shapes, and flatten metal tips to size and shape specifications. Using metal tips, handles cements, or otherwise fastens parts together. 
  • Uses grinder to sharpen metal tips to specific design and specifications. 
  • Tends or operates machines, such as presses, and assembly machines, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line. 
  • Operates name numbering machine to label and identify instruments. 
  • Operates tumblers and ovens.  Washing, sorting, and hand polishing various parts.
  • Utilize instrument wash stations.
  • Visually inspect work for the accuracy or rejects. 
  • Use a measuring tool to confirm accuracy.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Learns instruments and related product lines.
  • Learns quality processes and procedures.
  • Become familiar with ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (some line responsibilities may require heavier lifting).  Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for long periods of time; proficient hand dexterity to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
