This job posting is for employment through a Staffing Agency with a temporary assignment to Jackson Contractor Group, Inc. from October 2020 through June 2021, with the potential for a longer-term assignment.

Summary of Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Accounting Assistant prepares payments to vendors and suppliers including credit card charges, investigate and communicate discrepancies internally and externally.  

Essential Duties/Functions 

  • Enter and review trade invoices consistently and accurately and within designated deadlines and established procedures.
  • Reconcile statements and pay vendors balancing paying in full and taking vendor discounts. This includes contacting vendors when issues arise.
  • Assemble, verify, and make necessary corrections in the preparation of the monthly billing packages.
  • Keep superintendents and project managers aware of outstanding items and deadlines to facilitate timely vendor payments.
  • Work closely with internal and external contacts in a courteous and professional manner which facilitates a cooperative and efficient working environment.
  • Responsible for data entry and clerical duties in addition to general office tasks.
  • Reviews and prepares year-end 1099’s.

Experience/Skills Desired

  • 2+ years of accounting experience is desired
  • Preferred experience with the following programs:
    • Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
