Responsible for Credit Risk Oversight for multiple markets. Credit Officers approve credits using significant credit authority and recommends approval of credit relationships to the Divisional Credit Officer or Chief Credit Officer. Approval includes assessing credit risk within any given loan request through effective financial analysis, collaborating with Relationship Managers, and other due diligence efforts. Credit Officers also help maintaining sound Credit Risk Practices within assigned Teams and Markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.
Approves or recommends approval, administers, and reviews loans and loan commitments requests to ensure adherence to existing policy guidelines and sound underwriting principles.
Administers and reviews existing credits to protect the quality and profitability of the loan portfolio.
Presents well-organized, accurate and complete analysis of recommendations for approval or decline.
Identifies potential problem credits and works with the Special Assets Group and front line to help manage credit risk.
Assures Risk Rating Accuracy.
Demonstrates Leadership of a collaborative partnership with assigned market leaders to advocate appropriate credit risk culture to the field.
Mentor and train others in Credit Risk practices.
Make credit policy recommendations as appropriate.
Work closely with the Chief Credit Officer and Divisional Credit Officer on other special projects.
Willingness to travel to assigned markets as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or (B.S) from four-year college or university, with minimum of 10 years commercial lending or commercial credit risk experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must possess common sense and logic/knowledge to be able to formulate and strategize options for any given situations. Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel. Valid Driver’s license required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures, and perform spreadsheet analysis.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
